As I grow older, I increasingly feel a lack of imagination.
Recently, I became obsessed with science fiction novels and found a collection of Liu Cixin's works. There are about twenty stories, and it took me a week to study and read them all. I was amazed by the writing style and the world-building, both of which fascinated me.
As a science and engineering student, Liu Cixin combines a romantic imagination with rigorous knowledge of physics, which I greatly admire.
One of my favorite pieces is his interpretation of cosmic art in poetry. In the end, when civilization has developed to its fullest, survival becomes nothing more than the crying of a baby. There is no meaning in nostalgia anymore, and the pursuit of higher levels of satisfaction can only be achieved through art.
The pursuit of art has become so intense that it destroys the entire galaxy, in a straightforward yet artistic way.
Similar to the poem, there are also artists of low-temperature art, describing the endpoint of collective civilization as individual civilization, which also lacks the pursuit of survival. The entire piece is filled with artistic colors. However, for civilizations at a lower level, the pursuit of survival is still extremely necessary.
Liu Cixin's writing style is very romantic. He portrays the cruel universe with gentle strokes of the pen, while incorporating relatively rigorous scientific knowledge, which fascinates me.
