The first track "Crow" from Xu Song's 8th self-composed album "The Field of Breath" was officially released on May 7, 2021.
"Crow"#

We have all experienced misunderstandings, doubts, and isolation, tasted the bitterness of unrequited love or various failures, and have had moments when we felt "everything was going wrong"... But after the sadness, we still believe that "everything will get better", and we still strive to turn the situation around - maybe for the person we care most about, maybe because of a deep conviction in our hearts. Under the fragile wings constantly scraped by life, there is a strong skeleton. Xu Song takes the perspective of a crow, which has never been likable, and flies to the field of breath.
Life is nothing but a breath. If breathing doesn't stop, then life and thinking won't stop. When people get used to living with masks, the joy of breathing freely becomes a luxury. Even more luxurious is the heartfelt and unreserved conversation, breathing in the wild, and expressing one's thoughts. "The Field of Breath" starts with a cool color tone and depicts emotions and situations with ease and composure. The ten songs, like ten breath meditations, captivate people's attention. Xu Song, in the interplay between imagination and realism, in the intersection of tenderness and coldness, in the switch between romance and fierceness, describes life and thinking.
In "The Field of Breath," classical temperament and contemporary elements blend seamlessly. Xu Song has created a musical vocabulary that is different from his previous works, with both continuity and innovation. "The Field of Breath" is sincere, full, and detailed, allowing people to return to their innermost selves when they listen attentively.
To shoot album cover photos and music videos, Xu Song and a team of over twenty photographers entered the pristine forest rarely visited by humans on the plateau. Outside the tent curtains, there are wild bonfires, snow-capped mountains and rivers, and solitary travelers, forming a serene picture of the intersection of warmth and coldness.
The 10 tracks of the album "The Field of Breath" will be released successively from May 7th to May 14th!
"Fake Fall"#
On the snowy crossroads, cars and people flow endlessly, yet it feels like being in the wilderness.
The story in the song may be a real-life image, or it may be a fictional text creation, but whether it is real or fake, just like the "real fall" and "fake fall" in the song, the referees in their hearts have their own answers. Looking from the perspective of the protagonist in the story, only oneself knows the falls and hardships endured, and it is difficult to expect understanding from unrelated people.
"Fake Fall" is a narrative writing with Xu Song's unique mark, outlining the story with a few short strokes. Like a sincere and emotionally rich witness, it takes you to the scene of the story, but does not directly leave its subjective evaluation, leaving it for you to experience on your own. The "fake fall" at the scene of the story and the "fake fall" on the football field and in the arena of life reflect each other, leaving plenty of room for imagination.
In terms of music, the electronic sound creates a mysterious atmosphere in the icy and snowy environment, and the vigorous drum beats mercilessly strike like blunt weapons. The short melodic phrases in the chorus repeat continuously, along with the classic rhythm of electronic rock, creating a numbness in the icy snow. In the second half, it gradually builds up to a climax, until a bold shout and a dull "bang" suddenly hit the heart and stop abruptly. "Fake Fall" has both the warmth of care and the coldness of reflection, constantly triggering a heavy snowfall in the heart at the intersection of warmth and coldness.
"Ice Chest"#
Xu Song + Huang Ling
When deep affection collides with determination
It is both a flashing spark
And a deadly coldness
"Ice Chest" takes inspiration from thrilling suspense movies and explores emotional relationships. On the surface, it is a narrative full of dramatic tension, while inside, it is rich in meaning, advancing simultaneously internally and externally. Huang Ling, who had a brief encounter with Xu Song in "A Brief Encounter," once again collaborates after seven years, interpreting the roles and emotions in the song with great understanding.
"Ice Chest" was composed and produced by Xu Song. The elusive electronic music creates a mysterious atmosphere, full of visual impact, captivating the audience. The song starts with subtle breathing sounds, and then the two alternate to present images in a leisurely manner. When the chorus comes, the veil is lifted, followed by a strange bridge section, gradually building up the atmosphere step by step.
"Sci-Fi"#
In the mind, memories and fantasies intertwine, both real and illusory
Love gives answers about love after the end
- We entrust "Sci-Fi" with happiness
Xu Song's 8th self-composed album "The Field of Breath"
The fourth track "Sci-Fi" was officially released on May 13th
The song starts with a nebulous atmosphere and faint electronic frequencies. Classical elements and R&B beats blend dreamily, allowing the heart and soul to follow Xu Song's emotions without being hurt.
Like a return to an innocent childhood dream, like a romantic fable of youth. The gains and losses of love converge into a vast wilderness in his songs and poems. When listening to "Sci-Fi," everything is in the mind, but everything has been left behind.
The ending drum beats, like an incessant heartbeat, like an unending breath, like love that continues.
